We sat down with the two mega Miami babes behind the swimwear brand, Kai Lani, to find out more about them & discuss their latest swimwear collection that just hit the ISHINE365 shelves.

We are in LOVE with your latest pieces. Tell us about your 2016 collection and what makes it different from last year’s line.
Thanks! We are so excited about our Cruise 2016 collection it’s called Jungle Boogie, very different from our Tribal Summer 2015 Collection, which was boho with tons of solid summer whites and neutrals. This season we focused on a fun and bright collection, also adding in our platinum metallic pieces that gives it a 70’s vibe. We incorporated many floral and jungle prints, that we L O V E!

Your bikinis are always so feminine and fun! Tell us more about your inspiration.

My partner|sister and I are SO girlie. It just feels so natural to design flirty fun swim. We are also obsessed right now with the disco era. So we knew we needed to incorporate something metallic to mix back in with our fun/bright Jungle Boogie collection!

What’s your current favorite swimwear trend?

In love with the high leg 80’s one piece trend!!

How did you get into designing swimwear?

After owning a swimwear boutique for over 10 years I felt that the market needed something fresh and new! I was personally on the search for the perfect bikini bottom. So my partner and worked for about a year on the designing the best fitting seamless VBikini cinch bottom. Which is our number one seller today!

What’s your favorite beach/travel destination to showcase your bikinis and why?

MEXICO, for sure! Nothing like the vibe! Wether we go to Tulum which a so laid back and Bohemian or hit The Rivera Maya, it’s always a great time. The beaches are incredible and who doesn’t like a Margarita with Salt…

What are your three must have items in your beach bag?

My favorite sunglasses
Beach Bum Sunscreen
My Adidas Baseball Cap

What artist, musician or celebrity would you love to see in your collection?

I would love to see Gwen Stefanie in a Kai Lani! She’s so bad a$$! Not only did she just turn 45… But her body is ridiculous. #girlboss
