How long have you been doing yoga for?
This summer it will have been about 2 years of daily home practice.  (I had discovered yoga a year earlier and fell in love! I had just started to find a second of hang time in a handstand when I found out I was pregnant. Long story short…I stopped practicing until a few months after Lo was born.)

How did you first get into it?

I found yoga through Instagram!  My feed was flooded with beautiful pictures of people making amazing shapes and I wanted to learn how to do it. I was fascinated by inversions and made it my goal to learn how to handstand. Yoga started as a purely physical practice. At first I just wanted to learn rad tricks and then after my second son was born, I used it to get back into shape. But it’s so much more than that. It feeds your soul.  I never ever thought that it would become a way of life for me.

What do you do when you’re not being a yoga babe? ☀️
I’m a full time mama to Ash,6 and Lo, 20mo and a part time RN. The boys keep me busy but whenever we have any free time you can find us at the beach soaking up the sunshine
We hear you’re currently taking a course to be certified! Tell us about that. Is it fun?
Yes! It’s so exciting. I’m currently enrolled in a 200Hr YTT program at YOGA AURA in Boca. It’s a 9 month program. I go for a full weekend once a month. It’s very cool to be so fully immersed in something I love so much. As a self taught yogi, the idea of going into a studio and practicing with a group of people was very intimidating, but I am so happy I did it.  The program has taken me far out of my comfort zone. It has me practicing all different types of yoga and meditation, things that I haven’t been exposed to having a home practice. The spiritual/meditation part is growing on me. I’ve never been one to sit still long, I’m the girl with her eyes open in savasana wiggling around. I’m sure I drive my teacher crazy.

Will you be teaching yoga anytime soon? We’d love to have you teach us ishine girls!
I won’t be officially certified until November, but I have to practice teach till then! Will you girls be guinea pigs??
Your kids are the CUTEST! Do you see them following in your yogi footsteps? ⭐️
Thanks! The boys are already little yogis. Ash already creates his own flows and Logan has a killer down dog! They both gravitate towards the mat.  I’m trying to raise really mindful kids.

Any advice for people looking to get into yoga?
You have to find what works for you and your schedule. For me, I keep my mat unrolled in a special spot. All day long I find minutes to jump on and move. You don’t have to have a full hour long session to practice. It can be one pose, some stretching, anything! Make your own rules. Find teachers whose vibes you dig, Instagram has so many amazing souls spreading love and many of them have YouTube channels or videos. Join yoga challenges. Read as many books as you can. You will learn something new from each.  Sign up for an online yoga site such as gaiamTV or Once you become familiar with poses and flows you’ll start to be able to practice all on your own. Trust me. Trust the practice. The right time is now. Your body, mind, and spirit will thank you. If you let it, yoga will change your life.
What is your favorite position?
My favorite type of yoga is power vinyasa. Its a very physical practice but through the intense movements is where I find my stillness. My absolute favorite asana is a handstand. Nothing makes me feel stronger and calmer all at the same time. My journey with inversions was love at first try. One of the questions  I am most often asked on Instagram is how to handstand and the best advice I can offer is to throw your legs up and keep doing it every day till you hang. The awareness and strength comes with daily practice. If I was able to learn post c section with two kids than anyone can.
What is your favorite music to do yoga to?
Go to tunes would be any type of reggae. Beachy vibes always get me moving.
Favorite place to practice?
The beach! Or anywhere outside where I can feel the elements. Yoga has cultivated in me such a deeper connection with nature. I try to spend as much time out doors as possible.

Fave Teeki Print?
Is this a trick question?? All of them!
Guiltiest pleasure?
Anything chocolate! And books. At the beach. Without kids.
We LOVE your tattoos! Which one is your favorite and why?
They all hold a special place in my heart for different reasons. Wearable memories, they remind me of so many people, places and times in my life.  If I had to pick my fav though it would probably be the mermaid on my back. She was my first!
