During Two Piece Mafia’s Havana Nights fashion show on Friday, July 13th at The Plymouth Hotel, ISHINE365 had the chance to be in a room with incredible women from all walks of life, speaking with them about their journey to self-love and body acceptance. Being surrounded by people from different backgrounds, ages, body types, and stages in their careers, we grabbed the opportunity to speak with these gorgeous gals and get super candid in our conversations backstage, right before showtime.
Everyone faces adversaries at some point in their life; some hide it, some choose to share their struggles as they go. We know it’s easy to judge people based off of superficial viewpoints and stereotypes, so it was important that we gave each girl a chance to dive a little deeper and speak frankly about issues common in the modeling industry, and even in their personal lives. Promoting body positive ideology and celebrating the beautiful diversity amongst all women is the foundation of the Two Piece Mafia brand and #loveyourbody movement, so you can imagine that this project is incredibly close to our hearts!
Assuming that people who are considered to be conventionally attractive have never been judged based on their looks is a quick opinion to hold, and in reality that’s not the case. We’re eternally grateful that these women opened up on camera and shared their personal experiences.
Sending a huge shoutout to Matias Poro for interviewing these lovely ladies and capturing the moment in its essence! And of course, to our #ishinebabes for being a part of our #loveyourbody movement:
