PLACES TO VISIT:
WHERE TO EAT
The coolest new marketplace-style eatery. 1-800-LUCKY aims at showcasing various Asian cuisines, from Dim Sum to Ramen to Chinese BBQ, all in one hip location. The space also features a Lucky Records store where you can get your vinyl fix while grabbing some authentic Asian candies. We recommend trying sushi from Myumi, you'll thank us later.
2. Sherwoods Bistro
Dubbed "Little River's most charming new restaurant", this local hangout serves up delicious scratch made comfort food and drinks that're too good to pass up. To make it even better, they are now offering weekend brunch!
3. Michael's Genuine
One of the city's hottest restaurants, Michael's spotlights what Miami has to offer when it comes to fresh, seasonal dining. Their happy hour from 4:30-7:30 p.m. features half-off oysters, apps and cocktails, making it the perfect destination before hitting your Basel events.
4. Box Cold Brew
Now open in Wynwood, Box Cold Brew offers an array of tea, pastries, and you guessed it, coffee! But this spot is anything but ordinary. Their specialty menu transforms cold brew into works of art, casually complimenting your Basel experience, we know. They've even crafted Moscow Mule style coffee, ginger beer and all!
1. THE ANDERSON
An 80's inspired bar with an uber chill ambiance. The patent leather booths make great space for intimate cocktails and convos, orrrrr you could hit the dance floor and jam out to the live act of the night. Step outside to enjoy the fresh air and hit the second bar, soak up all those tropical feels!
2. DOHENY ROOM
Located at The Delano Hotel, Doheny Room is the #ishinegirlgang's home away from home. We tend to frequent this SoBe hotspot, we even celebrated our fifth birthday here! Great music, bartenders, and all around fab ambiance are some of the reasons we can't seem to stay away for too long. P.S. they have a photobooth!
3. FAENA HOTEL
The Faena Hotel is the type of place you have to see to believe, seriously, it's all kinds of beautiful. This upscale Miami Beach hotel has quickly established itself as one of the city's most sought after destinations. With three top of the line restaurants, three bars/lounges, as well as an acclaimed theatre, deciding where to spend your time may seem difficult. But, Art Basel week means the Faena has gone all out with an insane "Art Dome" right smack on the shore. Problem solved.
4. BROKEN SHAKER
The Broken Shaker is an outdoor lounge located in the courtyard of Miami Beach's Freehand Hotel. Even on a Monday, you can catch locals hanging out playing jenga or lounging by the pool. Sip on a custom cocktail stirred or shaken by the smoothest bartenders around. If you're hungry, neighboring 27 serves up small plates great for sharing with friends.
PLACES TO SHOP
1. UPSCALE DESIGN DISTRICT
If you're searching for a one stop shop for everything designer, Miami Design District is the place to go. This neighborhood is home to an array of luxury brand storefronts and upscale eateries that were designed with the fashion blogger in mind. The modern builds and sculpture installations make this area one giant Instagram photo-op you won't want to miss out on.
You know us, every beach babes favorite top of the line bikini destination. But really, if you love shopping with us online you've got to hit the boutique and see our huge selection of bikinis and clothing in person (we have champagne). We're now open seven days a week and our central location makes it way too easy to pop in during Art Basel, plus we'll style you.
7292 NW 1st Ct, Miami, FL
10 minutes from Wynwood/Design District
15 minutes from Miami Beach
Monday-Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
3. FABRICE TARDEIU
Hand crafted Italian leather shoes, say no more. Fabrice Tardieu's designs have been spotted on the likes of Dwayne Wayde and Diddy, but the women's range is not to be overlooked. We're totally obsessing over the Kaleskow loafers, you can find them online or at the Little River location. Tell them we sent you!
1. VANITY PROJECTS NAILS
Another one of our fav neighbors, this glam (but not too glam) nail bar started out in NYC and made their way down to the 305. Whether you like to keep it simple or go all out with designs, Vanity Projects has got you covered. They even offer $40 weekly nail art specials that you can check out on their Instagram.
2. IGK SALON - DESIGN DISTRICT
It's hard to argue that IGK is the hottest hair salon around right now. On December 2nd they opened the doors of their Design District salon, right in time for Art Basel. Go #IGKblonde, pick up some products, or get a trim, if you can score an appointment!
