WANDERLUST WEDNESDAY: 5 LABOR DAY DESTINATIONS
Posted on 25 June 2017
Labor day weekend – or what I like to call the last official weekend of summer before our agenda switches from beachin’ it to work flow – should not be a weekend to waste. It’s our last ode to summa’ 16 and we have some vacay spots to share that’ll keep those summer vibes lasting.
1.Key Largo, Fl
For our local Miami babes, key largo is the perfect last minute getaway. It’s only an hour away from the city making it easy to head on over after work. Don’t know where to stay? We recommend the Hilton Key Largo. Don’t think about it, just book it.
2. The Exumas
Just 35 miles southeast of Nassau, The Exumas offer a unique and memorable vacay and is the perfect way to spend your labor day weekend. Soak up the sun at pelican beach, a secluded, white sand paradise or enjoy a day at pig beach playing with adorable lil piggies.
3. New York City
Not into the island vibes for your mini vacay? Spend your 3 day weekend in the big apple. Dance through your labor day weekend at the Electric Zoo festival and all its EDM glory located at Randall’s Island Park with a lineup like: Carnage, Bassnectar, Steve Aoki, 3LAU and so.many.more. Or for a chiller weekend spend your days enjoying the many attractions NY has to offer- Museums, Times Square, Statue of Liberty.
Aruba is definitely a popular tourist attraction this upcoming labor day with it’s crystal blue waters and blonde beaches. Snorkel your way through the weekend by visiting the SS Antilla ship wreck just off the coast of the island. You can book a snorkel cruise that takes you to 3 different locations (including that of the shipwreck) where you’ll find beautiful sea life. The cruise also provides you with snorkel gear and lunch – not too shabby.
– from someone who’s been on this cruise, it’s a must when you visit Aruba, such an amazing experience!
5. Tulum, Mexico
Tulum is a resort town 1.5 miles from cancun with enough attractions and summer vibes to last you the whole weekend. Spend a day loungin’ around on one of many of Tulum’s beaches (Playa Paraiso, Ziggy’s, Ak’iin) or take advantage of the sites and explore their famous ruins. For that resort experience, stay in one of the many all-inclusive hotels Tulum has to offer. For you ‘living off the land’ kind of babes, stay in a cabana (for that cabin feel) with your choice of a garden or beach view. Don’t forget to add a tour of the island to your list of things to do while in Mexico – visit the ruins of Tulum, snorkel Xel Ha (a natural aquarium), or climb Coba, a 138 foot tall pyramid located in the mayan jungle. However you choose to spend your weekend in Tulum town we can guarantee it will be a memorable vacay that’ll keep you comin back for more.
