We are so excited to feature one of our top ISHINE365 Brand Ambassadors on this week’s Wanderlust Wednesday. The oh-so-amazing, Lacey Daunt, is living our *dream* life over in Honolulu, Hawaii. Learn all about how she went from a bustling life of fashion in New York to a life filled with adventure and tropical tranquility in Hawaii.
How did you end up living in Hawaii?
I wound up in Hawaii after bearing one of the coldest winters I had ever experienced back in New York. When spring rolled around I promised myself I would never do that again. So I up and left to live with my best friend who had just moved to Hawaii.
Tell us what it’s like to live in a tropical paradise!
This is my second year here and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Living in paradise is incredible. There’s always something to do. Beach, surf, free-dive, snorkel, swim, hike, the list goes on! Everyday. Without fail. I don’t know why people live anywhere else.
What are the best restaurants and bars in Honolulu?
Oh man, good question, haha. I don’t go out to eat much, honestly. But when I do, it’s usually always Thai food! I’m obsessed with curry – and they always offer it vegan! Or a vegan whole foods pizza pie. If you haven’t tried it, you have to!! Delicious. As far as bars, Lulu’s in Waikiki has industry night so Mondays, so I usually head there. I would say Thursday nights I usually head to Tropics, a small tap house located near University. And weekends if I make it out I’m usually in China town! Tons of fun bars there.

You’re a certified health coach and yoga instructor, where did you study?

I attended the largest online nutrition school in the US, Institute for Integrative Nutrition, in 2013. I also received my Pilates certification that year via Power Pilates, NYC. This year I took my certifications to a new level by heading over to Bali to do my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course with Routes of Yoga.

What are your favorite places that you’ve traveled to?

Am I allowed to say the place I live is by far my favorite place I’ve ever been??? Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Big Island, and Molokai are out of this world. These are only the islands I’ve been to, I cannot imagine how the others must look! The views are breathtaking around each corner. I love this place so much. Bali, Indonesia definitely for my second!! I could talk forever about Bali, but i’ll leave it at this; extremely affordable and absolutely stunning!! Third?, Turks and Caicos islands. Random, right? But I actually have never seen more beautiful white beaches!

What is your favorite vegan dish to make?

I have a slight obsession with Buddha bowls. Basically just like a vegan burrito, but in a bowl. The recipe is actually in my Ebook . There are also many other vegan recipes I love all on my website, free of charge!
